Aftercare

If you’re unsure about anything during healing,

just reach out. I’ve got you.

Since you chose me as your tattoo artist, trust my experience and the aftercare process I recommend.

Every artist works differently, and proper healing depends on the technique used. This is the exact aftercare method I’ve been using for over 10 years, with proven long-term results.

If you follow these instructions, your tattoo will heal properly and still look clean, vibrant, and sharp even years later.

Day 1–5

Keep the second skin on your tattoo for
5 full days.

The first day starts the day after your appointment.
For example: if you got tattooed on Monday, you should only remove the film on Saturday.

⚠️ Important:
Always remove the second skin in the evening, ideally around 8–9 PM.

The easiest way to remove it is under running water, during a shower or bath.
Peel it off very slowly
if you remove it too quickly, it can irritate or even damage your skin.

Healing Process

During these 5 days, it’s completely normal for fluid (“ink + plasma”) to build up under the film.
Don’t worry about it — this is just your body’s natural healing process.

As long as this fluid stays sealed under the second skin, it actually creates the perfect environment for healing.

I always provide extra second skin for my clients in case any fluid starts leaking out.

If that happens:

  • Clean and disinfect the area thoroughly where the fluid leaked

  • Then apply a small piece of second skin over that area

⚠️ Pay extra attention to high-movement areas like the wrist, elbow, or similar zones.
Because of constant movement, the film may start lifting more easily.
If this happens, make sure to seal it back down immediately to keep the tattoo protected.

ecause your tattoo should not be exposed to air at all

After 5 days

After removing the film, wash your tattoo thoroughly with soap and water, then let it dry.

⚠️ Do not apply any cream that evening.

From the Next Day

In the morning:

  • Wash your hands

  • Gently wash your tattoo

  • Let it dry for a few minutes

  • Apply a very thin layer of tattoo aftercare cream

Repeat this process every few hours for the next few days.

Healing Process: Day 1–5

By day two, you’ll notice fluid building up under the film.

By day three, this much fluid had already built up under the film on my wife’s tattoo — totally normal.

By day four, the fluid starts drying out under the film.

By the final day, everything under the film is fully dried out.
